The San Mateo County Office Building 3 (COB3) was the first net-zero-energy civic building constructed with mass timber and achieved LEED Platinum certification. The design lowered its embodied carbon by 85 percent, a 15-25 percent reduction from typical mass timber projects. COB3 is home to the County employees and redefined how Government Centers can be constructed.
